The xbox 360 unit itself runs around 10 pounds. This can get a
bit costly to ship from the far reaches of the country! What we suggest
doing is using the flat rate box measured at 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8
which is nearly a perfect fit for you xbox 360 unit! According to this page:
This is the Priority Mail Regular Flat-Rate Box (FRB2) which is $10.70
shipping RETAIL which is what it will cost you if you go in and mail it
at a post office. Insurance is usually a good idea to add to
something like this. $2.60 is what it costs for $150 worth of insurance
and this is always OPTIONAL but you accept all risk of shipping your
Xbox without insurance.
**First remove all accessories from your console, including your hard drive. We do not need your power supply/cord, A/v cable, hard drive, or memory card..... all that's needed is your console. Check your Drive for any games that maybe left in it.
Please don't just toss your Xbox in the box and ship it out!
What we do is drop an inch or so of something soft in there like packing
peanuts, bubble wrap or crumpled newspaper on the bottom of the box THEN we put
2-3 layers of bubble wrap around the xbox itself and slide it into the
flat rate box. Make sure the Xbox is tight in the box and is not able to move around, if it's loose in the box please add more packaging.
Once its in the box you will have some open space on both sides
of the xbox and the top area (unless you filled the bottom too much).
Please fill these gaps in with something like crumpled newspaper or peanuts. After the sides
are filled in toss some more stuff on the top area and go ahead and
close the box up. **Be sure to put in a copy of your Repair Form in the box.** Once closed you should be able to shake it around with
VERY little movement of the actual xbox.
