Hi,

We just moved the HP laserjet 4 from one office to another, now we get the 22 PAR IO Error message flashing everytime we try to print a document. It won't even print the test document for the computer we attached it to. We've tried shutting it off, re-installing the printer. Nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions

My hard-drive packed it in so my h/w guru installed a new hd plus a new install of 98SE.

When I first start my PC, I get the following error message flashing on my HP 4 Plus laser
printer "22 PAR IO Error".

But if I shut off the HP & restart the error goes away & everthing is 100% again. Printer works..

This HP error did not happen before I lost my hard drive.

BTW, my h/w guy did not have my printer at his shop at the time of the new install. I also do not have the original disks that came with the printer so if it is a driver prob then I will need to find a link to get it from.

Any ideas what I should do? Not a stopper but wud like to get it so the error does not appear.

THANKS.

My Laserjet 4+ leaves piles of toner on the paper when I try to print a page. Also, it looks like the type is reversed? Can't seem to figure out why it is doing this? Is it trying to print both sides of the paper? Is the toner cart the problem?
Thanks!

Laserjet 4P starts its first page of printing with a bunch UUUUUU. It does that whenever I turn on the printer follow by the PC. My PC is running win2000 and it does not recognize the printer if I turn it on after the PC is on.

faint print down one side of the page is more likely to be an optical issue, especially if the printer has been located in a dirty/dusty environment - clean optics with a lint free cloth and blow laser housing clean (this may take a little tech, know-how)

Have a HPLJ4Plus. Is giving error WM Job 300 after installing new postscript memory. What is this error, what does it mean, how do I get rid of it?

John:

THe WM error means that the resource saving memory area is full. You can hit continue to print the job but some data maybe lost. You may need to adjust resource saving setting for the printer. Basically postscripts require to have more memory installed in the printer to run properly. For the postscript to work properly you will need at least 6MB od memory installed in the printer.

What does "LC Incompatible" mean?
Mike

LC stands for lower cassette

You are ether using the wrong size paper or have the wrong lower cassette tray inserted. Check your printer paper setting on the printer make sure they match.

41.3 paper error appears now and again on my printer, could you tell me the solution please. I have looked on the net and their suggestion are good, but they do not solve the problem. Also is it possible to get part RB1-2317 & diagrams of the internal workings of the printer (HP LJ4+)
Thanks

The transfer roller is most likely the cause of faint print down one side, if you have already replaced the cartridge. Or the cartridge is bad.
