HP INKJET 870 Cse Error message: Print heads will not move.
Have had printer two years. Worked great. One day, when turned printer on, print heads did their usual dance to the middle of the page, then Slammed to the left marging and will not print.
The print heads will move manually and they will reposition themselves to the right when turned off, but always slam to the left and stay stationary when turned on.
Appreciate any advise. |

Ok one questions for you, is the carriage staying jammed to the left... are you prying the carriage from the left side?
If the carriage is not jammed, then the problem is most likely warn or dirty incoder strip or a bad main board in the printer. |

We have a HP Desljet 670c that will print fine from the local computer but trying to install it as a network printer on other machines, it keeps complaining the printer is offline, even though the printer is on and the computer to which it is connected can be accessed from the network. Any ay ideas what the problem might be? |

What operating system are you running? If it in win95/98 try switching to the windows drivers instead of the HP drivers if you have not done so already. HP deskjet drivers have some problems with networking. |
